Our History


1987
- Born out of the heart and passion of seven believers in Christ, Metro-East Crisis Pregnancy Center was established in Granite City, IL. 

1988 - Metro-East CPC is established as a 501(c)(3). Kathy Sparks becomes the Executive Director. 

1990 - Metro-East CPC opens the first satellite location in Fairview Heights.

1997 - Metro East CPC changes names to New Beginnings Pregnancy Care Centers. 

1998 - New Beginnings PCC receives a partial grant from the National Institute of Family Life Advocates (NIFLA) for the first ultrasound machine and begins offering ultrasounds.

2006 - The ReL8 abstinence education program is launched to reach students with the truth that abstinence is the only 100% effective way to avoid the risks of sex outside of marriage.

2007 - New Beginnings PCC receives a Community Based Abstinence Education (CBAE) Grant and expands ReL8's reach to 25 IL counties. 

2008 - The Fairview Heights location is moved to the current Belleville location.

2008 - In the pursuit of becoming more relevant and relatable to young people, New Beginnings PCC becomes Mosaic Pregnancy & Health Centers (Mosaic PHC).

2009 - Mosaic PHC begins offering STI testing and treatment.

2010 - Mosaic PHC receives a grant from Focus on the Family's Option Ultrasound for a new ultrasound machine for the Granite City Center.

2012 - Mosaic PHC receives a grant from Focus on the Family's Option Ultrasound for a new ultrasound machine for the mobile medical unit, C2 Mobile

2013 - Mosaic PHC purchases, retrofits, designs and launches C2 Mobile, a mobile medical unit providing free and confidential services in multiple communities each week. 

2014 - Mosaic PHC receives a grant from Vitae Foundation for search engine optimization in order to reach more clients through their online activity.
